Republic Day 2024 Live Updates: India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day today i.e. on 26th January 2024. This year French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest.
President Droupadi Murmu will hoist the national flag at 8 am at Kartavya Path. This year's Republic Day theme is 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Loktatantra ki Matruka'.
The Republic Day 2024 parade will commence at 10:30 am (IST) from New Delhi's Vijay Chowk, following the route from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path. It will start at Rashtrapati Bhawan and proceed to the Rajpath.
The venue will accommodate approximately 77,000 people, with 42,000 reserved for the general public.
Numerous tableaus will showcase India's rich cultural history, culture, and tradition. The cultural pageantry of the R-Day includes vibrant fold dance performances and patriotic songs.
This year's top attractions include a women's tri-service group parade, a French contingent to join the R-Day parade, six Indians to join the French military team in the Republic Day parade, AI to take space in the parade, ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 to be highlighted, and so on.

DRDO tableau showcases Liquid Ramjet Technology, MPATGM, Agni-5
Demonstrating Nari Shakti on Republic Day, the Defence Research and Development Organisation tableau was led by Sunita Jena, an outstanding scientist and a specialist in guided missiles. She had developed Indigenous Liquid Ramjet Technology using the technology for STAR series missiles.
The DRDO tableau was themed "Self-reliance in Defence Technology".
Women scientists P. Laxmi Madhavi, I Sujana Choudhary and A Bhuvaneswari were also present in the tableau, The Oil 30 developed systems and subsystems being displayed on the tableau: are Missiles like MPATGM, ASAT, AGNI, VSHORADS, NASM-SR, HELINA, QRSAM and Astra; LCA Tejas aircraft; AESA Radar; Electronic Warfare System-Shakti; cyber security systems; command control systems; and semiconductor fabrication facilities.

The Gujarat Tableau depicted the theme of the state's 'Dhordo: Global Icon of Gujarat's Tourism Development during the Republic Day parade on Friday.
Dhordo, a small village located in the Kachchh district of Gujarat, on the western tip of India, has become synonymous with its rich cultural heritage. This border village, is known as the gateway to the picturesque White Rann. celebrates its traditional handicrafts, folk music, and annual Rann Utsav.

India ushered in its 75th Republic Day on Friday with a grand display of its women power and military might that included elite marching contingents, missiles, warplanes, surveillance gadgets and lethal weapon systems, with French President Emmanuel Macron gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
For the first time, an all-women tri-services contingent marched down the Kartavya Path, reflecting the country's growing 'Nari Shakti' (women power).
In another first, the parade was heralded by over 100 women artistes playing Indian musical instruments such as sankh, naadswaram and nagada instead of traditional military bands kickstarting the celebrations.

Motorcycle display on 'Naari Shakti' in R-Day parade
Exhibiting the prowess of 'Nari Shakti', 265 women on motorcycles performed various stunts to showcase bravery, valour and determination during the 75th Republic Day parade here on Friday.
Women personnel of the Central Armed Police Force deployed across the length and breadth of the nation provide 'Sarvatra Suraksha', read a message of unity and inclusiveness at the Kartavya Path during the parade.
The women bikers of the CRPF, BSF and SSB exhibited the strength of Indian values, including yoga.

The float gave the message that the state has achieved notable success in integrating women directly into the development process through its welfare schemes. It illustrated the progressive journey of women in the state through self-help groups, local leadership and representation even in the aviation sector. The front part of the tableau showed the first woman fighter pilot of the Indian Air Force, Avani Chaturvedi of Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, besides a fighter plane model. The middle part featured women artists painting pots, the Badal Mahal gate and weavers of the globally renowned Chanderi, Maheshwari and Bagh print sarees. The lower section of the tableau showcased a stone carving crafted by a female artist and a mural painted by Gond tribal artist 'Padma Shri’ Durga Bai. The rear part of the tableau featured India's Millet Mission ambassador and 'Millet Woman of India Lahari Bai from the Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh. Murals of women made from millets adorned the lower portion of the float.

Manipur's tableau in the 75th Republic Day parade here on Friday showcased its Ima Keithel, also known as the "Mother's Market".
The 500-year-old Ima Keithel, the only market in the world run entirely by women, serves as a classic example of "Nari Shakti".
Based on the theme "Thambal Gi langla – Lotus Threads", the tableau depicted women extracting delicate fibre from lotus stems and making yarn using traditional spinning wheels.
In the centre, the float depicts a woman weaving clothes using "Eyong" – a traditional Manipuri loom. There was a replica of the Ima Keithel building at the rear end of the float.
"Ima Keithel fosters the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. They have gifted the world with many internationally acclaimed products like Leirum, Moirang Phi, and Mayek-Naibi," an information brochure released by the government on the eve of Republic Day said.
It introduced entrepreneur Kumari Bijiyasanti Tongbram of Thanga village, nestled in the heart of Loktak Lake, who recently became India's first lotus silk producer.
"She not only employs many local women but also exports lotus silk to foreign countries, establishing India as the world's fourth nation to export lotus silk. Her remarkable achievements earned her the prestigious 'Changemaker of the Northeast 2020' award," the brochure said.
