Synopsis
Ronnie runs a Disco walking tour with his son, Brayden. When a sexy woman takes the tour, it begins a competition between father and son for her love. It also signals the arrival of an oily strangler who stalks the streets at night.

UPDATE: It's now been seven years since I've seen this film. I think about it at least once a day, and have every day, since June the 14th, 2016. Yes, this is a one-star review, but in reality, it's a secret four-star affair.
It's like Napoleon Dynamite, The Room, Swamp Thing and Todd Solondz beat each other to death inside a Tim & Eric sketch, all set to a soundtrack from a Dan Deacon soundalike.
The titular 'Greasy Strangler' looks like famed film director, John Carpenter, if he went as "The Dead Lady in the Bathtub from The Shining" for Halloween.
It's a film I cannot, in good conscience, recommend to a soul, but I think everyone needs to see it.
I know I'll never be the same again.

The best film about father-son bonding since Eraserhead.

Assorted thoughts:
* This film hates women, using the girlfriend character as a sort of random prop for the two main characters and a target for the filmmakers' misogyny.
* The camera takes its time revealing bodies because apparently the filmmakers find that funny.
* The ad nauseum absurdity would work if it were employed with any rhyme or reason, any f*ck-you purpose, or any skill. Instead, it's just boring.
* Disco deserves better than this.
* I've seen intentionally wooden performances, but this was I am too tired to come up with a metaphor. f*ck this movie.

The Horrible Imaginings Film Festival Review Series FINALE
UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT: This was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life. I watched this in a theater full of renowned horror based novelists, critics from Dead Central and Bloody Disgusting and award winning filmmakers from around the world. There wasn't a silent moment from any of them while this played on screen. The general amount of WHY? oozing from everyone's laughter was simply marvelous. I've never had an experience quite like this one, whatsoever. I usually hate the Tim and Eric brand of humor, but I'll admit, this one got me good. Anti-art at its ugliest and most non-Hollywood friendly to date. From one fellow Bullsh*t Artist…

I don't want to live like this. I just ruined my life, and for what? For what? I am changed forever and there is no going back. My life will now forever be post-watching The Greasy Strangler.
This is one of those times where I'm torn on how to use the rating system. Do I rate the film as it's own entity? Because technically I think it probably achieved being everything it wanted and set out to be. Or do I rate it against the entire scope of what any film could be, comparing it to all of cinema? f*ck it, it's not that deep fam. This movie obviously wanted to be as obscene, misogynistic, nonsensical, and disturbing as possible,…

There are two kinds of people in this world – those who like The Greasy Strangler and those who are bullsh*t artists.

The Greasy Strangler is a twisty yet quirky take on competitive father-son dynamics. With many elements that immediately recall John Waters classics, it never tries to be something it's not, as the director and cast members have said, this movie is not for everybody. However, you're going to be head over heels for it if it is indeed for you.
Riding heavily on delicate cinematography, bright color palettes and perfect scores, The Greasy Strangler features one dysfunctional, greasy father-son duo, who vie for the same girl while a serial killer named The Greasy Strangler is on a killing spree. The details are cared for perfectly, with random characters, matching costumes and crudely offensive scenes that amp up the campiness of…

(Halloween Movie Fest 2020)
Cringe Movie Bucket ListPainfully idiotic and gross!
"Bullsh*t artist!"
If a perverted and depraved version of 'Napoleon Dynamite' sounds appealing, then you might find this amusing. If not, then stay far away from this pointless piece of sh*t movie.
Typically I would provide a rundown of all the gross things you could expect to see, but it is really not worth my time. I did give it an extra half star for its surprisingly decent production value and funky score. Most of the time the try-hard comedy had me rolling my eyes, and I was very tempted not to finish it.
You have been warned!
Thanks for reading.
Happy spooky movie watching season ... Boo! -

HOOTIE TOOTIE DISCO CUTIE!
This is honestly one of the funniest movies I have seen in years its so ridiculous that you cant help but love it,
it honestly feels like The Napoleon Dynamite equivalent to a horror movie.
The cinematography is also surprisingly very good featuring lots of great tracking shots,I may be a cheesy old cornball but I absolutely adore The Greasy Strangler its my kinda movie in every way.
The ending does drag a bit is my only complaint honestly but its minor.9 Bullsh*t Artists outta 10

I will say this for The Greasy Strangler: The title is 100 percent accurate.

0/10 film.
Basically what you'd get if you throw the worst parts of a Todd Solondz film, a Jared Hess film, a John Waters film, a Seth MacFarlane series, a Tommy Wiseau film, and the Tim & Eric show into a blender, take a giant smelly dump all over it, and blend it all together, The Greasy Strangler is one of the most depressingly unfunny, atrociously acted, and horrendously awful piles of filth I've ever had the misfortune of watching.

“No, this isn't right,I need more grease on this”
The Greasy Strangler really is awful; it’s a gross, cringe comedy that’s trying way too hard to be a gross, cringe comedy, forcing awkwardness and excessive filth to the point where it just seems contrived, but despite its arrogance and self-indulgence it bizarrely still works. It isn’t subtle at all and balances a very fine line between being funny-bad and actually-bad, but Jim Hosking definitely knew what he was doing with it, and its context and his intent kind of forgive and justify its intemperance, having a similar kind of niché appeal to action movies that try too hard to be action-packed. I enjoy this very much as a guilty pleasure…
